Potty Training A Dog

Is it your first time training a dog? Don’t worry, it isn’t as bad as some people may initially believe. House training a dog is one of the most important tasks for individuals to instill in their pets, but since many dogs as very smart they do not need to worry too much about this process as long as they are prepared and willing to work on the process, and that they are also willing to be patient with themselves and their animal as well while the process is beginning and being developed.

There is a major emphasis that needs to be put on praising the dog when they do go outside and go to the bathroom out there. By letting them know that they are good, this helps them to want to continue to receive that type of praise. It is important to most dogs to receive this kind of praise because they want to feel a connection between themselves and their owner. One of the best qualities of many types of dogs is that they do want to be able to please their owner and make them proud and happy. It is beneficial for owners to not only verbally and physically commend a dog for a good job, by saying that they are good and scratching or petting them so that they know they were acting in a way that is appreciated, many people will also want to be able to give their dog a treat as well.

For when the dog is inside, house training a dog is not too difficult. It is important to also praise the dog when they inform the owner of their need to go outside. If they do not and they make a mistake, it is important to be stern but not to over exaggerate the occurrence. Implement in the home for a little while the wee-wee doggy pads or newspapers so that there is an area for the dog to go to the bathroom while they are learning how to become house trained.

Potty training a dog can be challenging, but it certainly has its rewards!
